Balochistan Assembly forms 18 members committee about Reko Diq project

QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly has formed an 18-members committee regarding the Reko Diq project.
In a notification on Tuesday, the Assembly Secretariat has included members from treasury and opposition benches as members of the committee.
The members include Planning and Development Minister, Mir Zahoor Buledi, former chief ministers Nawab Aslam Khan Raisani, Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, opposition leader Malik Sikandar Advocate, Sanaullah Baloch, and others.

The committee would ensure the interests of the people of Balochistan in the gold and copper project i.e. Reko Diq. The assembly had decided the formation of a committee on December 13 this month.

BNP Mengal and JUI F express concern over the proposed agreement

Component parties of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) including the Balochistan National Party (Mengal) and Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F) had expressed serious concern over the proposed agreement about the copper and gold project.

The two parties had demanded of the Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo to preserve the interests of the people of the province in signing any agreement in this regard. The CM had assured that the interests of the people of Balochistan would be guarded and secured in any agreement.
