PPP had given NFC award in Gwadar: Khursheed Shah

The central leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Syed Khursheed Shah has said that his party had given the National Finance Commission (NFC) award in Gwadar to the smaller provinces. Mr. Shah and other leaders of the party reached the port city on the directives of Bilawal  Bhutto Zardari to express solidarity with the protesting women and men.

Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman, a local cleric has been leading the protest demonstration, which entered 30th day on Tuesday. PPP Balochistan President, Changaiz Jamali and others accompanied him on the occasion.

Mr. Shah assured the protesters that the chairman of the party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would raise his voice for them in the parliament. “My party stands by you”, he announced. Syed Khursheed Shah demanded of the government to address the grievances of the people of Gwadar.

The PPP led government under Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gailani had announced a consensus over the NFC award in 2009 in Gwadar. Since then, no consensus has been developed over the award in the country.

CS Balochistan reaches Gwadar

Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana, Commissioner Mekran Division, Shabir Ahmed Mengal, and other high ups also arrived in the port city to review development projects. Mr. Rana directed the concerned departments to expedite the pace of work on the projects and address the grievances of the masses of Gwadar.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had also taken the notice of Gwadar protest and directed the Balochistan government and concerned departments to solve issues relating to the port city.
