Balochistan: 12 cases of omicron variant detected in Kalat

Health officials have reported 12 cases of omicron variant of the coronavirus from Balochistan’s Kalat district on Tuesday. 12 omicron variant cases have been confirmed in Kalat, the Incharge of PCR Lab in Quetta said in a notification.

So far, the omicron variant of the coronavirus has been reported from 63 countries of the globe, the World Health Organization (WHO) said. Pakistan had confirmed the first case of the virus on December 13 from Karachi.

The PCR in charge has asked the district health officer (DHO) Kalat to trace out the patients and quarantine them to avoid its spread.

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo took notice of the report of the omicron variant of the coronavirus and directed the health officials to take preventive measures. The CM has asked the officials to quarantine the patents in order to halt their spread.
