Leader of Jhalawan Awami Panel came under attack in Khuzdar

QUETTA:  A vehicle of the senior leader of Jhalawan Awami Penal has been attacked by unknown armed men in Wadh town of district Khuzdar late on Wednesday evening. According to the sources familiar with the incident, Senior leader of Jhalawan Awami Penal Mir Muhammad Iqbal Raisani along with his friends was on his way to somewhere, when his vehicle came under attack on Saleh Muhammad Road of the Wadh Town.

The Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Abdul Quddus Achakzai reached the spot and started negotiations with the protesters to reopen the road.

Resultantly one of the motorists said to be a close friend of Iqbal Raisani sustained serious bullet injuries, however, Iqbal Raisani remained unhurt in the attack. The injured was shifted to teaching hospital Khuzdar, where his condition was said to be out of danger. Soon after the incident, workers of Jhalawan Awami Penal and locals took to the streets and blocked the main Quetta-Karachi highway near Zero Point while placing barriers.

The enraged protesters chanted slogans against police and local administration and were demanding immediate arrest of culprits behind the incident.

As per local sources, after the incident Muhammad Zai and Shaikh tribes took positions against each, however till the filing of this story situation remain tense in the area and intermittent exchange of fire continued between both groups, however, no more casualty was reported in this regard. After the incident, officials of local administration along with Levies were rushed to the side and started efforts for the ceasefire between the groups.
