Lashkari Raisani rejects in-camera session about Reko Diq

The central leader of the Balochistan National Party (Mengal), Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani has strongly rejected an in-camera session of the provincial assembly about the multi-billion dollar Reko Diq project. In a statement issued after the Balochistan Assembly discussed the gold and copper project for 10-hours, Mr. Raisani has termed it an attempt to deceive the people of Balochistan.
“This was a suspicious activity”, the BNP’s central leader remarked while referring to the in-camera briefing to the lawmakers. He said all facts figures should be brought before the people of Balochistan since they are owners of this natural wealth.
“Our family has rendered sacrifices to protect this multi-billion dollar project”, Lashkari Raisani stated. He said when the Reko Diq belongs to the people of Balochistan then why the rulers were hiding the proposed agreement.
Former Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Aslam Raisani has also opposed the in-camera briefing. Raisani was also not present in the house at the time of the in-camera briefing to the lawmakers from the opposition and treasury benches in the Balochistan Assembly.
A total of 42 lawmakers of the Balochistan Assembly participated in the in-camera session that thoroughly discussed the multi-billion dollar project on Monday.
