Emergency declared in rains/snow affected districts of Balochistan

Balochistan government has declared an emergency in all rains and snowfall affected districts of the province. Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo directed all concerned departments to be ready to tackle any situation after a snowfall and heavy rainfall in various parts of the province.

Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), National Highway Authority (NHA) and other departments should be prepared to cope with any emergency situation. MR. Bizenjo directed the concerned departments to make sure opening of the highways during snowfall and rainfall in the province.

Quddus Bizenjo directed PDMA and NHA to take precautionary measures at Khojak pass, Kan Mehtarzai and Lak Pass to make sure smooth flow of the traffic. In the case, the passengers are stranded, the authorities should support all passengers, Mr. Bizenjo said.

He however requested the people to avoid unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall and snowfall in different parts of Balochistan. Quetta and other parts of Balochistan have received heavy rainfall during the last couple of days.
