Doctors shut down emergency services in BMC, CHQ, civil hospital Quetta

Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan has shut down all emergency services in the Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) Hospital, Children’s Hospital Quetta, and Civil Hospital on Wednesday evening. The protesting doctors closed down all emergency services in the aftermath of the arrest of around 20 doctors by police in Quetta. At least 10 doctors were injured during the clash with batons-wielding policemen.

“We direct our colleagues to shut down all emergency services in Balochistan”, Dr. Hafeez Mandokhail, the Chairman of YDA said in a video shared on social media. Quetta Voice obtained the video.

Patients suffer the brunt of strike

The protesting doctors emergency services in civil hospital Quetta, BMC, and CHQ. “The government is least bothered about the grievances of the masses”, Dr. Mandokhail said. However, patients in the government-run hospitals faced difficulties as young doctors shut down emergency services in the province. “Where we will go, all emergency services closed”, Jehangir Khan, an attendant of the patient said.
