QUETTA: Young Doctors Association (YDA) Balochistan resumed emergency services after successful talks with provincial ministers. Senior provincial minister, Noor Muhammad Dummar, Muhammad Khan Lehri, Naseebullah Marri, and others held successful negotiations with YDA leaders in the civil hospital.
The ministers visited the doctors’ protest camp after police arrested 20 doctors on Wednesday. At least 10 young doctors were also injured in a clash with police during the protest demonstration.
Dr. Hafeez Mandokhail, the Chairman of the YDA, and other protesting doctors participated in the negotiations. The provincial government released all arrested doctors and assured them that the demands of the YDA would be met.
The doctors had shut down all emergency services in civil hospitals, Children’s Hospital Quetta, Bolan Medical Complex Hospital, and Fatima Jinnah Hospital after the police action.
