Relief goods provided by UNHCR distributed among Afghan refugees

Deputy Commissioner Chaman, Captain (R) Jumadad Khan Mandokhail distributed relief goods provided by United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) among the Afghan refugees on Saturday. UNHCR representatives Sultan Khan Rodi and Hidayat Achakzai were also present on the occasion.

Relief goods were distributed among 61 Afghan refugees families in the district. Chaman is the first district where relief goods were distributed among the Afghan refugees. DC Chaman had requested the UN agency to provide commodities, blankets, and tents to the Afghan refugees affected by recent rainfall in the area.

Torrential rains in the district have affected a large number of people. Afghan refugees have also faced the brunt of recent rainfall in the area bordering neighboring Afghanistan.
