Cross-border trade with neighbors to be made easy: President Alvi

GWADAR: President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that cross-border trade with neighboring countries would be made easy to open new vistas of jobs. The President chaired a high-level follow-up meeting regarding border trade at the port city of the country on Friday.

Governor Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha, Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo, Chief Secretary Mathar Niaz Rana, and other high ups participated in the meeting. The meeting thoroughly reviewed issues relating to the border with neighboring countries.

“Trade would be facilitated to boos cross-border business activities”, Dr. Arif Alvi said. He directed the concerned quarters to lay down the road network to enable people to reach their destination. Telecommunication facilities, banking channels, and other facilities would be provided in the bordering areas.

President directs authorities to provide technical education to the youth

President Arif Alvi directed the concerned departments to provide technical education to the youth of Gwadar to serve in various organizations in the port city.

Regarding the scarcity of Gwadar, the President said that the project of provision of daily 1.2 million gallons to Gwadar would be completed within the next six months. He stated that the government would provide a conducive atmosphere to all the national and international investors in the port city.

Meeting briefed about illegal fishing

The meeting was also briefed about the steps taken by the concerned authorities for bringing an end to illegal fishing in the Arabian Sea. Maritime agency, fisheries department have apprehended illegal trawlers fishing in the sea, the meeting was told.

The President of Pakistan expressed satisfaction over abolishing unnecessary security check posts across Balochistan. He said the government should take all possible steps to facilitate the masses of the province.

Earlier, Governor and Chief Minister Balochistan received the President at Gwadar International Airport.
