Iran can be part of CPEC: Speaker Balochistan Assembly

QUETTA: Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali on Tuesday said that Iran can be part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He expressed these views while talking to the Iranian Consul General, Hassan Darwish Vand.

The Iranian Consul General called on the Speaker and congratulated him on his election as custodian of the house in his chamber. The Consul General called for direct flights between Quetta and Zahedan to boost trade activities and people-to-people contact between the two neighboring countries.

Speaker Jamali assured that he would personally take up the issue of launching flights between the two countries with the federal government. The Speaker stated that the Iran-Balochistan friendship group would be established to boost bilateral ties between Pakistan and Iran.

“We have to come closer to each other and boost bilateral relations”, the Speaker stated. He said there were centuries-old relations with Iran and the unity among the Muslim countries was the need of the hour.
