Book lovers throng Gwadar to participate in book fair

Hundreds of book-lovers thronged Gwadar to participate in the book fair. Mir Abdul Ghaffor Welfare Trust, district administration, and other organizations have organized a three-day book fair to promote the habit of book reading in Gwadar, the country’s port city.

Book-lovers from across the country participated in the fair to appease the appetite for reading books. Senator Kohda Babar from the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), senior Balochistan Minister, Mir Zahoor Buledi, intellectuals, authors, writers, journalists participated in the book fair. Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Captain (R) Jamil Ahmed made hectic efforts in organizing the book fair.

“Reading books broaden the vision of people”, Mir Zahoor Buledi said. He urged the young generation to focus on studies and develop a habit of books reading to meet the challenges of the present modern era.

Books stalls established in the book fair

Various books sellers organizations had established bookstalls with deduction of prices on books to attract book-loving people. People visited stalls in the morning and in the evening.

“Gwadar has a rich history of knowledge and books reading”, Kohda Babar, the Senator of BAP mentioned on the occasion. He said the present government has determined to promote education and knowledge so that our young generation could compete on national and international levels.
