BAP leader Agha Habib Shah killed in Hub blast

A local leader of the ruling Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Agha Habib Shah was killed in a bomb explosion in Hub city of Balochistan on Sunday night. Four other people were also injured in the blast, which rocked the city.

The explosion occurred on the Quetta-Karachi highway in the industrial city of Balochistan, Ayub Achakzai, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said. Mr. Achakzai informed that the terrorists had planted the bomb below the vehicle of the BAP leader, which caused a huge blast.

An image of the SUV targetted in the attack shows the passenger cabin of the vehicle jumbled up after the blast, with the driver’s side door and the windscreen missing. The injured of the blast were rushed to Hub hospital for medical treatment. Police reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway.

Langove strongly condemns the attack

Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Ziaullah Langove strongly condemned the blast and expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Agha Habib Shah. In a statement issued after the blast, Mr. Langove vowed that the perpetrators of the blast would be brought to justice. “The terrorists would not be spared”, the Minister warned.
