The First Information Report (FIR) about the Quetta blast was registered at City Police Station on Thursday. The FIR was registered on behalf of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). The blast on Quetta’s Fatima Jinnah Road had left three people martyred and over two dozen injured. Terrorism, explosives, murder, and other charges were included in the FIR by CTD, a police official said.

One Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) was also among the martyred in the blast. The incident was an act of sectarian terrorism. The accused first targeted two members of the Hazara community inside their shop, a senior police official told Quetta Voice. He requested anonymity.

When people gathered at the spot of the incident, then, there was a huge blast. The blast was heard far and wide and shops caught fire because of roaring flames of fire.

The funeral prayers of the victims were offered in Quetta. Senior police officers and other high-ups participated in the funeral prayer of DSP Muhammad Ajmal in the police line area of Quetta.

Investigators also visited the spot of the blast and collected evidence regarding the incident. Deputy Inspector General of Police Quetta, Syed Fida Hassan Shah said that the terrorists had used more than two kilograms of explosives in the blast. He said a police patrolling vehicle was also in the area at the time of the blast.
