Nadeem Afzal Chan is back in PPP after four years

News Desk:

Nadeem Afzal Chan, a former special assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan has rejoined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Sunday. Mr. Chan had resigned from PPP prior to the 2018 general elections in the country.

“My decision to join Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) was wrong”, Mr. Chan told reporters at a press conference. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, former Prime Minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Syed Khursheed Shah, and Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Murad Ali Shah were also present on the occasion.

Chan had quit the PPP for the PTI in April 2018 and contested the general elections on the party ticket from NA-88 (Sargodha -I), but lost. His brother Gulraiz Afzal Chan is currently a PTI member of the Punjab Assembly from the PP-68 constituency of Malakal.

Chan had resigned as special assistant to the PM over the Premier’s delayed visit to Quetta in the aftermath of the cold-blooded murder of 11 coal miners in the province. The coal miners belonged to the Shia Hazara community of Quetta.
