Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (F) workers across Balochistan have blocked national highways on the call of Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, the Chief of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). The enraged JUI workers took to roads and highways to vent their anger over the arrest of members of the national assembly, Maulana Salahuddin Ayubi, Agha Mehmood Shah, and others. “The protest will continue till the release of our MNAs and workers”, Maulana Wasey, the JUI F Chief of Balochistan said.
Hafiz Tahir, a local leader of the religious group blocked the Quetta-Karachi highway at Kalat. The workers were chanting slogans against the government and Islamabad Police for conducting an operation in the parliament lodges.
The workers of the religious party blocked the main highway linking Quetta with Islamabad at Khanozai. They also blocked the Quetta-Chaman highway and Quetta-Karachi highway at Kalat. “Our workers have blocked roads and highways on the call of our chief”, Maulana Abdul Wasey, the Balochistan Amir of the JUI F said.
Strict security arrangements were made by the administration to maintain the law and order situations on the eve of agitation by religious party workers. Police and levies personnel were deployed across the province to maintain the order.
