Southern Balochistan Package to end backwardness: CM Bizenjo

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo has said that the Southern Balochistan Package would bring an end to the backwardness of the area. The CM attended a meeting of the apex committee regarding the Southern Balochistan development package on Friday.

Chairman Planning Commission, Dr. Jehanzaib Khan, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana, and others also participated in the meeting. The meeting thoroughly reviewed the overall development projects in the package.

Development projects worth Rs.600bs included in the Southern Balochistan Package, the meeting was told. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the implementation of development projects would end the backwardness and remove the existing sense of deprivation among the people.

The federal government has approved 139 out of a total of 161 development projects under the Southern Balochistan Package, the Chairman Planning Commission informed the meeting. Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana also informed the meeting that the provincial government has also approved 18 development projects.

“We have also requested Prime Minister Imran Khan to announce Nothern Balochistan package”, Mir Quddus Bizenjo said. He said the Premier has promised to announce a development package for northern Balochistan very soon. “This package would bring an economic change in Balochistan”, he said.
