CM Bizenjo meets Jamali, decide to hold intra-party elections

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo met Speaker Jan Muhammad Jamali on Thursday. Other leaders of the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) including Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, Muhammad Khan Lehri, Senator Manzoor Ahmed Kakar and others were also present on the occasion.

“The meeting decided to hold intra-party elections”, an official handout issued said. The meeting discussed issues relating to BAP and other organizational issues. The meeting decided to convene an immediate meeting of the party to have thorough consultations in this regard, the statement said.

The meeting also reviewed a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan and unfolding political events in the country. The meeting also discussed the upcoming local bodies elections in Balochistan and decided to organize BAP to make the success of councilors.

Currently, former chief minister, Jam Kamal Khan is the president of the ruling BAP. Jam Kamal was removed as the CM in October 2021 after the submission of the no-confidence motion against the latter. The then speaker Quddus Bizenjo who is currently the CM had played an important role in the removal of Jam Kamal.
