Manan Mandokhail:

Quetta traffic police have made a strange announcement prior to the fast approaching Ramazan ul Mubarak on Friday.
“All traffic policemen directed not to challan (fine) during first week of Ramazan”, a letter issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) said.
A copy of the letter was obtained by the daily Quetta Voice.
If anyone violated traffic rules during first seven days of Ramazan, resolve the matter amicably, the letter concluded.
The Quetta traffic police letter was widely shared on social media. It got mixed reaction from the people. Some supported the decision and some opposed it.
It may be mentioned here that Quetta city has been facing worst traffic jam issue for last few years. However, this traffic jam problem doubles during the sacred month of Ramazan ul Mubarak.
