ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) lawmakers have announced mass resignations from the national assembly on Monday. “Yes, we have decided to tender resignations from the national assembly”, Imran Khan, the PTI Chairman told reporters.

The decision was taken in a party’s parliamentary meeting, which was chaired by PTI Chairman Imran Khan, at the Parliament House today afternoon. “The parliamentary party has decided to resign from the assemblies against the imported government,” PTI Central Information Secretary Farrukh Habib confirmed in a tweet.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan strongly criticized the election of Shehbaz Sharif as the PM of Pakistan. He stated that there were multiple cases of corruption against the latter in various courts of the country. “This is extremely disturbing”, Imran Khan said in his short answer to reporters.

Former foreign minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi also endorsed the party’s decision regarding resignations from the parliament during his speech in the national assembly.
