Bolan levies arrested an accused and recovered 50 kilograms of hashish from his possession in the district Kachhi area of Balochistan on Thursday. Levies sources said levies force conducted a raid on a vehicle and recovered 50kgs of hashish.

Levies conducted a raid on the directives of deputy commissioner Kachhi, Shafqat Anwar Shahwani. The accused was smuggling narcotics from Quetta to interior Sindh when intercepted by levies force.

“We have stepped up efforts against drug peddlers and smugglers in the area”, Hafiz Muhammad Tariq, Assistant Commissioner Kachhi said. He said levies personnel were deployed on all important routes in Kachhi to avert attempts of smuggling narcotics from Balochistan to other provinces of the country.

The government has decided to discourage the elements playing with the lives of innocent youth of the country through narcotics, Mr. Tariq stated.
