QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo has said that provincial disaster management authority plays an important role in tackling natural disasters. The CM chaired a high-level meeting regarding the PDMA on Friday.
Adviser to the CM on PDMA, Mir Ziaullah Langove, Director-General PDMA, Naseer Nasar and other officials attended the meeting.
The meeting approved the utilization of funds with some amendments to make sure timely support in the case of any natural disasters. The meeting also approved an increase in stock to provide relief to affected people by natural disasters in the province.
“The authority should be strengthened to cope with any emergency situation”, Chief Minister Balochistan said. The meeting reviewed the establishment of relief villages at the divisional level to support the affected people across Balochistan.
DG PDMA briefs meeting
DG PDMA Naseer Ahmed Nasar thoroughly briefed the meeting about the operations of the authority. The meeting reviewed an increase in the establishment budget of PDMA and made an important decision in this regard.
The meeting noted that Balochistan is prone to all-natural disasters and an effective strategy was the need of hours to cope with any disaster in the future.
Mr. Bizenjo underlined the need for strengthening the capacity of the PDMA staff to play their due role in saving human lives in the case of any natural disasters.
