ISLAMABAD: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has been appointed as the new foreign minister of Pakistan. President Dr. Arif Alvi administered the oath to the newly appointed foreign minister on Wednesday. The oath-taking ceremony took a place at Aiwan e Sadr Islamabad.
The 33-year-old Bilawal was first elected as an MNA in 2018. This is the first time he will be serving as a member of the federal cabinet.
While there was no immediate official confirmation about Bilawal’s portfolio, his sister Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari had congratulated him earlier in the day for taking oath as the country’s foreign minister. Former President Asif Ali Zardari, central leaders of the party, and other high-ups attended the oath-taking ceremony.
