A landslide killed two coal miners in Balochistan’s Dukki district on Monday evening. Police sources said the coal miners were working deep inside the mine when the landslide hit them. Both the miners were dead on the spot.

Rescue workers and fellow miners reached the affected mine and retrieved the dead bodies of the victims. The coal miners were identified as Murtaza and Salahuddin, the president of district Killa Abdullah.

The dead bodies were shifted to district headquarters hospital Dukki. The hospital administration handed over the dead bodies to the heirs after the completion of necessary official procedures.

Landsliding and other incidents inside coal mines of  Dukki and other parts of Balochistan have claimed thousands of precious human lives. Especially, such incidents have become the order of the day in Balochistan’s Dukki district, which has rich coal reservoirs.
