QUETTA: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Sunday apprehended a high profile terrorist planning to target courts and security forces in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province.
CTD personnel also seized an explosive laden motorcycle from the terrorist, the Spokesman of the CTD said. The force had received a secret information that a terrorist network was planning to carry out a major terror act in Quetta, he informed.
The force stopped a motorcyclist and seized improvised explosive laden motorcycle from his possession. The bomb disposal squad personnel reached the spot and defused the motorcycle.
The arrested terrorist was identified as Nizamuddin alias Khalid.
“The terrorist confessed of planning terror attacks at high court session court and security forces”, the Spokesman mentioned.
The terrorist confessed carrying out terrorist attacks including attack at Hamid Shakeel, the deputy inspector general of police, serena chowk blast, blasts on Qandahari bazar, university chowk and a series of terror activities in Quetta.
The accused has also confessed targeting the Shia Hazara community in Quetta, the Spokesman concluded.
