KOHLU: Cases of gastro epidemic are on a constant rise in Balochistan’s Kohlu district. “We have provided medical treatment to over 50 patients of gastro”, Dr. Asghar Marri, the Medical Superintendent of district headquarters hospital Kohlu said.

Aged people, women and children were also among the gastro patients, Dr. Marri informed. He however complained that the hospital was facing difficulties in the treatment of the patients because of a lack of medicines.

Emergency was imposed in the hospital to make sure timely medical treatment to the gastro patients. Eid holidays of all health professionals including doctors and paramedics were already canceled because of heavy monsoon rainfall in the province.

“The situation is alarming and the number continues to increase”, Dr. Marri mentioned. Besides the district headquarters hospital, patients were also being provided medical treatment in private clinics and other basic health units located in district Kohlu.
