Balochistan Govt releases Rs.92.2 million for floods victims

QUETTA: Balochistan government has released Rs.92.2 million for the heirs of victims of recent floods and rains in the province. Chief Minister Mir Quddus Bizenjo ordered the release of funds for the victims of floods and rains, Farah Azeem Shah, the Spokesperson government of Balochistan said on Monday evening.

In Balochistan, the death toll in rains-related incidents rose to 102 in the province. 33 children and 30 women are also among the dead, Naseer Ahmed Nasar, the Director-General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) informed.

The government has announced Rs.2 million for each heir of the victims of floods and rains-related incidents. The Balochistan government and federal government each would provide Rs.1 million for the family members of those who lost their lives.

Floods damage 580kms roads, 11 bridges

Floods damaged 580 kilometers of roads, eleven bridges and five dams have been damaged in the province due to rains. 706 cattle have also been swept away and died in the flooded channels, Farah Azeem Shah informed. She said that the provincial government is continuing the relief operation in the rain-affected districts.

And the administration, PDMA and other institutions are active in the rain-affected areas and are doing their best to protect the lives and property of the people in the current emergency situation.

The spokesperson stated the government is trying to provide all possible relief by moving the people to safe places and continuing the relief activities. Taking possible measures, she that the relevant institutions have been instructed to take measures on a war footing for the restoration and repair of the structures affected by the rains.
