QUETTA: The death toll rose to 102 in rains and floods-related incidents in Balochistan on Monday afternoon. The third spell of monsoon rains has also played havoc in various parts of the province, which covers half of the country in terms of area.
As per statistics shared by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), most of the deaths were reported from Quetta, Loralai, Barkhan, Pishin, Bolan, and other parts of the province. Among the dead, 32 were children and 28 were women, the Director-General PDMA, Naseer Ahmed Nasar told Daily Quetta Voice.

The third spell of monsoon has swept away small bridges and inflicted damage to Quetta-Karachi, Sibi, Chaman, and Zhob highways. Damages to roads have caused the suspension of traffic in various parts of the province.
Passengers suffered a lot in scorching heat on the Quetta-Karachi highway after some parts of it were swept by flash floods unleashed by torrential rains on Monday morning. The passengers were directed by the administration to use alternative routes to reach their destination (Karachi) and avoid traveling on the highway.
