ISLAMABAD: The federal government appointed senior police officer Mohsin Hassan Butt as the Director-General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Wednesday. Mr. Butt a grade-22 officer has replaced Muhammad Tahir Rai as the DG FIA.

Sources in the establishment division said that the government has posted Muhammad Tahir Rai as the DG National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA).

Mohsin Hassan Butt has served as the Inspector General of Police Balochistan. He is considered to be one of the most competent officers in the police service of Pakistan.
