Chief Secretary Balochistan reviews development projects in Quetta

HUB: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdu Aziz Uqaili visited flood-affected parts of district Lasbela on Sunday afternoon. Commissioner Kalat Division, Muhammad Dawood Khilji, Secretary Health Saleh Muhammad Nasar, and Deputy Commissioner Iftikhar Bugti accompanied the top civilian officer of the province.

The Chief Secretary directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) and administration to ensure the reopening of the Quetta-Karachi highway. The officials briefed the CS about the partial opening of the highway.

 

 

The Chief Secretary ordered that the flood water drainage system in Lindadhuri river of Othal city should be operational within 24 hours.

Chief Secretary Balochistan inspected the camp of flood victims in Wayara area. A tent has been set up for 115 flood-affected families. Prepared food is being provided to the flood victims, the DC told the CS and officials.

The Chief Secretary issued orders to provide more tents and relief rations to the flood victims.

Over 30,000 castles were swept away in floods

In district Lasbela, over 30,000 cattle belonging to livestock owners in the rural areas have been swept away in the floods. According to the initial survey, five to eight thousand people have been partially and two three thousand people have been displaced from Lakhra and Kinraj rural people are facing difficulties in reaching the district administration is making efforts with limited resources.

The CS specifically ordered Secretary C&W Balochistan to arrange for private heavy machinery so that accurate and timely data collection of damages in the affected areas is possible in the light of the announcements of the Prime Minister of Pakistan and redressal of the losses of the people.

The Chief Secretary was briefed by the participating military officials regarding the relief operation and rehabilitation in Lasbela. In the conversation with the officials on the occasion of the visit to Lasbela, he emphasized the need to continue and speed up the relief and rehabilitation activities. The concerned authorities were strictly instructed to complete the rehabilitation of the bridges and link roads affected on the RCD highway within 24 hours.
