Balochistan faces financial crises: CM Bizenjo decides to meet PM

ISLAMABAD: The Balochistan Government asked Islamabad to release funds for the reconstruction of infrastructure damaged by recent floods and heavy rainfall in the province. Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Quddus Bizenjo also called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and demanded support for the flood affectees. 

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo had an important meeting with the Federal Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal. This meeting was held on the special instructions of Prime Minister Muhammad Shabaz Sharif.

Federal Ministers Maulana Abdul Wasey, Sardar Israr Tareen, Agha Hassan Baloch, Mir Hashim Notezai, and Senator Muhammad Abdul Qadir also participated in the meeting. Chief Secretary Balochistan Abdul Aziz Aqeeli, Federal Secretary Planning, and Additional Chief Secretary P&E Balochistan were also present.

The issues related to the timely and immediate release of funds for Balochistan’s projects included in the federal PSDP were reviewed in the meeting. Support of the federal government in the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the flood-affected areas of Balochistan and the rehabilitation of the victims was also discussed.

The Chief Minister of Balochistan expressed concern over the slow release of allocated funds for federal projects in Balochistan. “Federal cooperation is indispensable for the development of Balochistan, “Chief Minister told.

I am grateful to the Prime Minister that he is taking keen interest in the development of Balochistan, the flood situation and the solution to the problems.

“The Prime Minister has directed full support for the development of Balochistan”, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal said.

The Federal Minister assured the timely release of funds for federal projects in Balochistan. The federal government will provide all possible resources in the recovery and reconstruction phase of damages caused by the floods, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal stated.
