QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Monday directed the Director-General Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to appear before the court in the case of a flood. The court passed this order on a constitutional petition filed by Rahib Khan Buledi, a senior lawyer regarding the flood situation and the government’s response in the high court.

Chief Justice BHC, Mr. Justic Naeem Akhtar Afghan, and Mr. Justice Sardar Ahmed Haleemi admitted the CP for regular hearing and issued notices to the Chief Secretary Balochistan and Secretary Irrigation in this regard.

“The government has failed to support the flood-affected people”, the petitioner mentioned in his constitutional petition. The court has directed the DG PDMA to appear before the court in person, Mr. Rahib Buledi stated.

Flash floods unleashed by heavy rainfall have played havoc across Balochistan. Floods have left 225 people dead including 67 children throughout the province.
