Panjgur: Levies men sexually abused 3 minors, 1 arrested others escaped

PANJGUR, QUETTA: Three levies personnel sexually assaulted three minor boys in Panjgur city of Balochistan on Sunday. Police sources said one levies personnel involved in the sexual abuse of the minors was arrested.

However, the other two levies personnel involved in the sexual abuse of the minor boys are still at large. “We are conducting raids for the arrest of two other accused”, Amir Jan, the Police Inspector said. He said police were interrogating the arrested levies personnel with regard to the sexual abuse of the minor boys.

DC suspends levies constable Muhammad Younas

Deputy Commissioner Panjgur suspended Levie’s constable Muhammad Younas for his alleged involvement in the sexual abuse of minors. According to a notification, a copy of which was obtained by this daily, the DC has also ordered an inquiry against the suspended constable, Muhammad Younas.

According to local sources, the accused had subjected minor boys to rape at the banglow of the deputy commissioner. This is yet to be officially verified.

One suspect has been arrested while the remaining two suspects, including the Levies official, have gone into hiding and raids are being conducted to arrest them. According to police inspector Amir Jan, the ages of the victims are between 12 and 14 years who were taken to the government building by deception.

One of the affected boys said in one of his videos that “Levies officials took him to the commissioner’s house saying that he was called by a government official. After going there, the accused gave him a cold drink, after which he became unconscious – he said that the accused raped him while he was unconscious.

In his statement to the police, the victim’s father told the police that the accused had also taken nude pictures and videos of the boys. The SHO said that the doctor confirmed the rape of a boy after the examination.

Assistant Commissioner Panjgur Amjad Hussain Soomro told the Daily Quetta Voice that the parents did not bring the other two affected boys to the hospital for medical treatment. He said that the personnel involved in the incident have been suspended and will be arrested soon, however, he denied that the incident took place in the Commissioner’s House.
Contrary to the denial of the Assistant Commissioner, a notification from Deputy Commissioner Panjgur also confirms that the crime was committed in the Commissioner’s House. According to this notification, the Levies Havaldar posted at the Commissioner House has been suspended for neglecting his duties.
An investigation has also been ordered against four employees including three Levies officials posted at Commissioner House.
