The chehlum procession of Hazarat Imam Hussain and his companions was taken out in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province amid tight security. The federal and provincial governments had suspended cellular services to maintain the law and order situation on the eve of the procession in Quetta and other parts of Pakistan. 

The procession passed through its traditional routes and ended at Alamdar Road Quetta. The Balochistan government had adopted a strict security plan to avoid the occurrence of any untoward incident in the city.

Security personnel were deployed at different locations from which the procession of Chehlam was passing.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Balochistan, Zahid Saleem visited the central police office in Quetta to review security arrangements for the chehlum procession. He along with Inspector General (IG) Police Balochistan, Abdul Khaliq Sheikh were exclusively monitoring the different routes of the Chehlum procession from the control and command center.

The concerned authorities briefed ACS Balochistan and IG police Balochistan regarding the security plan prepared for the Chehlum. A large number of mourners were part of the chehlum procession in Quetta. The procession contained 23 rallies that passed through different traditional routes.
