JUI F likely to join Balochistan government soon

QUETTA: Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (JUI) is likely to join the coalition Balochistan government soon. The religious party lawmakers held a detailed meeting with Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo in Islamabad to discuss possible joining of the provincial government.

“JUI has decided to join the coalition government”, a lawmaker from the religious party said. He requested anonymity since he was not authorized to speak to the media. With 11 lawmakers in the house of 65 is the second largest parliamentary party and largest opposition party.

The party had played a crucial role in the success of the vote of no confidence against the former Chief Minister Balochistan, Jam Kamal Khan in October last year.

Bizenjo meets Maulana Wasey

CM Balochistan, Bizenjo called on the federal minister for housing Maulana Abdul Wasey in Islamabad. Opposition leader, Malik Sikandar Advocate, Balochistan Minister, Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran and other lawmakers were also present at the meeting.

“Bizenjo held three hours long meeting with JUI F delegation”, the insider mentioned. He said the meeting discussed the allocation of portfolios with the Chief Minister. The religious party has also put a condition that the lawmakers belonging to the former ruling party Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) should not be part of the future coalition government.

JUI asks Bizenjo to withdraw portfolios from PTI ministers

PTI has two provincial ministers including Naseebullah Marri and Mobeen Khilji and Babar Musakhail of PTI is the deputy speaker in the Balochistan Assembly. “We have asked the CM to withdraw portfolios from the PTI ministers”, a well-placed source within the JUI disclosed.

CM Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo and the JUI delegation are expected to meet on Tuesday to give a final shape to the new alliance and the religious party’s participation in the government. Balochistan National Party (BNP), the second largest opposition party has not made any decision in this regard so far.
