The Government of Balochistan has decided to provide flour at reasonable prices to the consumers in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. The government has started selling 20 kg floor at Rs: 1399.
On behalf of the Food Department Government of Balochistan, Provincial Minister for Food, Zmarak Khan Achakzai distributed cheap government flour among the people. Mr. Achakzai stated that he held a successful meeting with Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, and succeeded in purchasing wheat from Punjab at reasonable prices.
” This government realizes the problems of the masses”, Achakzai said. The food department has established various points in Quetta city to make sure the provision of flour at reasonable prices.
However, flour prices skyrocketed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan. Still despite the claims of the government 20 kg flour bag is being sold at Rs: 2500 in the open market.
“So far we have not received flour at reasonable prices”, Syed Khudaidad Agha, the president of the flour shopkeepers association Balochistan said.
The road communication between Balochistan and Punjab is affected, which has caused the suspension of traffic on highways. “This suspension is the reason for no wheat transportation and skyrocketing prices in the province”, an official of the food department told Daily Quetta Voice.
