The current torrential rains followed by the flash floods caused large-scale damages and deaths across the province. The merciless flood waves damaged the electricity and gas systems in Balochistan. Quetta and other parts of the province remained deprived of electricity and gas for around 15 days, the acting Governor recalled.

A committee consisting of representatives of all parliamentary political parties will be formed and apart from this, every member of the provincial assembly can also inform the Speaker Balochistan Assembly about the losses in the area, he told the UN Coordinator.

“Government is taking concrete steps to ensure transparency in the relief and reconstruction activities”, Mr. Jamali said.

Transfer of goods was a big challenge in the beginning as most of the areas were disconnected through a road connection. This problem was overcome by the concerned institutions with their untiring efforts, he informed.
