Balochistan Police deployed Women Constables to ensure flow of Traffic

Manan Mandokhail:
The Balochistan Police has deployed Women Constables to ensure the flow of Traffic in Quetta city. It is for the first time that the Balochistan Police has started recruiting Female constables.

It was a need of the time as Male constables could not stop female drivers in the town. Police sources said some women were also found driving Non-custom paid vehicles and black paper cars. It was very difficult for men traffic constables to stop and challan women, a police officer told Daily Quetta Voice. “Now women would stop women”, he said requesting anonymity since he was not authorized to speak to the media.

“People appreciate and encourage me for controlling the flow of Traffic in Quetta”, Miss Sakeena, the female constable told Quetta Voice.

You can save your and other’s life by following the traffic rules, She added. Right now, I am stopping males too, and charging fine to them if they break traffic rules, Sakeena, the Female Constable told Quetta voice.

The addition of female Traffic sergeants also hints the gender equality in the Police department. Moreover, Balochistan had its first-ever female SHO in the month of July.

Female representation is needed in every department of the country to cope with the issues faced by women in society.
