PMC registers all 600 medical students of Balochistan

Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC) Islamabad issued a notification for the registration of 600 students from three medical colleges of Balochistan that include Makran Medical College Turbat, Jhalwan Medical College Khuzdar, and Loralai Medical College Loralai.

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir the Secretary of Health Balochistan said that, after the registration of the three medical colleges, the PMC had announced a special examination for the registration of the students studying in these colleges.

It is worth to be noted that these students were in protest for the last few years.

A high-level delegation of the Government of Balochistan, headed by the Chief Secretary, Secretary of Health, and Principal Medical Colleges, asked to review this decision in a meeting with the members of the Council on 15 February 2022, the Secretary of Health Balochistan stated.

Hafiz Muhammad Tahir further said that in the second meeting on March 10, 2022, it was decided that the complete registration will be decided after reviewing the papers and exams of the students under study.

Mr. Tahir added that the PMC requested the representative from Balochistan, Professor Dr. Naqeebullah Achakzai, to present a report at the council meeting on October 24. In the meeting, the review report was approved for the registration of all students.

The council announced the registration of all 600 students by issuing a formal notification on November 1. “The government of Balochistan is grateful to PMC for solving the problem”, Mr. Tahir said.
