CHAMAN:
An emergency was declared in the district headquarters hospital Chaman after tension at the Pak-Afghan border on Thursday morning. So far, 16 injured have been brought to the district headquarters hospital Chaman. Children and women are also among the injured, Dr. Abdul Malik Achakzai, the Medical Superintendent of the hospital said.
There was an exchange of fire at Killi Sheikh Alam at the border, eyewitnesses said. The Medical Superintendent (MS)Chaman hospital declared an emergency and called all medical staff.

A medical team moved from Quetta to Pak Afghan border Chaman on the directives of the Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo. Doctors and medicines were dispatched from the provincial capital to ensure the provision of timely medical treatment to injured of the attack from the Afghan side, Waseem Baig, the Spokesman of civil hospital Quetta said in a statement.

Seriously injured were brought to the civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment. “All seriously injured were brought to trauma center Quetta”, Waseem Baig, Mr. Baig informed. Orthopedic surgeons and other senior doctors were called on an emergency basis to provide timely medical treatment after armed clashes.

This armed clash has come almost three days after the Afghan Taliban fired rockets into Pakistani territory on Thursday morning. The rockets fired by the Afghan Taliban claimed seven precious human lives. Over two dozen people have been injured as a result of the rocket attacks.
Pakistan had lodged a strong protest over the unprovoked Afghan forces’ attack on Pakistani territory. Pakistan has also tightened security at the Pak-Afghan border after a heavy exchange of fire with Afghan forces. Scores of frontier corps personnel were moved towards the border after fresh clashes, eyewitnesses told Daily Quetta Voice via telephone. Afghan side has also tightened the security on their side of the border, they said.
