Balochistan spending Rs.40bs to 50bs on law and order: CM Bizenjo

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo on Tuesday revealed that the province was spending Rs.40 billion to Rs.50 billion on maintaining the law and order situation at per annum. Addressing the provincial cabinet meeting, Mr. Bizenjo stated that the province was responsible for the security of half of the country.

Balochistan cabinet demands one percent extra share for security in NFC award

The Balochistan cabinet demanded of the federal cabinet to provide a one percent share in the national finance commission award as an additional share for security purposes. The cabinet made a number of decisions pertaining to Balochistan, the country’s resource-rich but least-developed province.

CM Bizenjo said the province had meager resources and most of the funds were being spent on maintaining the law and order situation in half of the country. “Foreign enemies of Pakistan have created a law and order situation in Balochistan”, the CM stated.

The cabinet decided to present Balochistan’s security share before the prime minister, an official handout issued said. The government has also decided to take up this issue of security share in the NFC award in the council of common interest meeting.
