Senior lawyer, Abdul Latif Afridi was killed in a firing incident inside the Peshawar High Court on Monday afternoon. Police sources said Latif Afridi was seriously injured in a firing incident inside the Peshawar court. Police sources said the senior lawyer has been rushed to Lady Reading hospital for medical treatment. The senior lawyer breathed his last on his way to the hospital.

Police sources said that the attacker has been detained by policemen inside the court premises. Latif Afridi received six bullets, initial police investigation reveals. Scores of the members of the legal fraternity reached the Peshawar High Court after the attack.

Latif Afridi remained the President Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), a well-known political and human rights activist in the country. Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo strongly condemned the killing of Latif Afridi in Peshawar High Court. In a statement issued after the incident, Mr. Bizenjo said Latif Afridi has always struggled for the supremacy of the constitution and democracy in the country.

He expressed condolences with the broken family members and prayed that may Allah rest the departed soul in peace.
