Hussain Zarkoon:
Methane gas left four coal miners unconscious inside a coal mine in Balochistan’s Dukki district on Tuesday. Rescue workers and fellow miners reached the affected mine and successfully rescued four unconscious coal miners. The miners were shifted to the district headquarters hospital Dukki for medical treatment.

“The condition of all miners is now stable”, hospital sources told Daily Quetta Voice. The miners have been discharged after the provision of first aid, they said. The coal miners belong to Afghanistan and have been working in mines for last more than a decade.

Hazardous working conditions inside the coal mines of Balochistan have claimed thousands of precious human lives. Despite repeated appeals and criticism by labor organizations and rights groups, the government and mine owners are yet to improve working conditions for coal miners in Balochistan.
