The legendary cricketer Javed Miandad, well-known umpire Aleem Dar and world-fame cricket players arrived in Quetta to participate and witness the Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in Quetta. The eighth PSL match is scheduled to be held in Quetta on February 5 at the Nawab Akbar Bugti Stadium. All arrangements have been made for the fast-approaching match in the provincial capital.

The national players including Umar Akmal, Usman Qadir, and others arrived in the provincial capital. The Commissioner Quetta Division, Sohail ur Rehman, and other high-level officials received the cricketers at the Quetta international airport. Strict security measures were adopted by the district administration of Quetta to avoid the occurrence of any untoward incident on the eve of the PSL match.

Baton-wielding policemen were deployed at the main airport road and barbed wires were put on the road to ensure an uninterrupted flow of traffic on the eve of the PSL match. The government has also evolved foolproof security arrangements to make sure the protection of players and spectators during the match.

Within two days, the management and administration of the match sold out all 14000 tickets for the PSL match. “All the luckiest people got the ticket”, Mir Quddus Bizenjo, Chief Minister Balochistan said. Mr. Bizenjo visited the Nawab Akbar Bugti stadium and reviewed the security arrangements for the upcoming PSL match in Quetta. High-level officials accompanied the CM during his visit.

The capacity at the Nawab Akbar Bugti stadium is 14000. Scores of cricket fans were witnessed outside the Nawab Bugti Stadium to witness the PSL match between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmai. However, the administration said that there were no further tickets since the capacity of the stadium was less.

This is for the first time in the history of Balochistan that a PSL match is being played here.
