Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) on Friday decided to launch the Jail Bharo Tehreek on February 22nd. In an announcement, PTI Chief Imran Khan said the Jail Bharo Tehreek would be launched from Lahore. This announcement has come on behalf of the PTI after a police crackdown against its workers in the city.
“I am directing my party to start preparations. We will start the movement from Lahore on Wednesday, and then kick it off in major cities every other day and we all will fill the prisons,” he said in a televised address via video link from his Zaman Park residence in Lahore.
Imran said the purpose of the movement was to encourage the nation to not be afraid and “break the idol of fear”.
