At least two levies men were martyred when their check post was attacked in the Mastung district of Balochistan on Tuesday. Levies sources said the unknown accused opened fire at the levies check post in the Babri area of Mastung.

The attack left two levies men martyred. The attackers escaped unhurt from the spot. Levies and police reached the spot and the dead bodies were shifted to the hospital.

The administration launched an investigation into the incident. No arrest was made till the filing of this report.

Sardar Muhammad Khondai adds from Chaman:

Unknown accused opened fire at policemen in Chaman on Tuesday morning. Policemen deployed at the Chaman press club quickly retaliated and one attacker was killed on the spot and another one was injured. The injured terrorist escaped from the spot, a police source said. A huge contingent of police reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway.

Security was tightened across Balochistan in the aftermath of two attacks at levies in Mastung and police in Chaman. The Balochistan police chief, Abdul Khaliq Sheik has already ordered tight security in the aftermath of the terrorist attack at the Karachi police chief’s office.

Prime Minister condemns the attack

Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the attack against levies in the Mastung district of Balochistan. In a statement issued after the attack, the premier expressed sympathies with the broken family members and prayed that may Allah rest the departed soul in peace. He however said the government was committed to bringing the perpetrators of the attack to book.

Bizenjo condemns the attack

Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo also condemned the terrorist attacks. In a statement, Mr. Bizenjo said that government would bring the terrorists to book and they would not be spared. He vowed that such cowardly attacks would not have an impact on the resolve of the government in its fight against terrorism.
