The Balochistan government has established a special investigation team to probe into the recovery of three dead bodies in the Barkhan district. Salman Chaudhary, the Commandant Balochistan Constabulary would lead the special investigation team of police, the Spokesman of Balochistan Police said. The case was also transferred from Barkhan to the Crimes Branch Quetta for investigation. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Quetta, the DIG Special Branch, and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) would be members of the special investigation team.

Members of civil society and legal fraternity and political parties are also part of the protest demonstration. “We demand an impartial investigation into the incident”, Abdul Rahim Kakar, a local leader of the Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI demanded. He said the PTI stands by the victims’ families and would not make any compromise over the blood of innocent people.

Jehangir Marri, the Secretary General of the Marri Itehad said that still, five children were under the custody of the minister. He said, “our first priority and demand is the unhurt recovery of the children”, he said. Police had also conducted a raid at the Quetta residence of the minister. However, no recovery was made in this regard.
