Barkhan court grants bail to Sardar Khetran in triple murder

The Session Judge Barkhan granted bail to the Balochistan Minister for Communication and Works (C&W), Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran in a triple murder case on Friday. Sardar Khetran was granted bail by the Session Judge Barkhan, Malik Sajauddin because of lack of evidence in the triple murder case, court sources told Daily Quetta Voice. They requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter.

“No evidence of Khetran’s involvement”, Khetran’s lawyer says

“No evidence of my client’s involvement in the triple murder case”, Manzoor Rehmani, the counsel for Sardar Khetran told reporters after obtaining the bail order in Barkhan.

Police had arrested Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran after the recovery of three dead bodies of two men and a teenage girl in the Haji Kot area of Barkhan in February this year. The Marri Ittehad Pakistan had staged three-day sit-in in the Red Zone of Quetta along with dead bodies for the arrest of the minister.

Khan Muhammad Marri, once a private security guard of Sardar Khetran had accused the minister of killing his two sons and making his family members hostage. The charge was vehemently denied by the minister and he accused his own son Sardarzada Inam Khetran of conspiring against him.

The Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Quddus Bizenjo had ordered the establishment of a joint interrogation team (JIT) to probe into the triple murder in Barkhan. The JIT comprises only of senior police officers and there was no officer from the intelligence agencies.

The JIT is yet to submit its report before the Chief Minister. And there has been no word about the tragic incident and the identification of the teenage girl who was buried by the Edhi foundation as heireless in Quetta graveyard.
