Quetta police claimed to have arrested two women drug peddlers and recovered 10 kilograms of hashish from their possession. Police sources said new Kuchlak police conducted a raid and arrested a total of nine suspected drug peddlers in the area.

They said two of the total nine peddlers were women. “We have seized 10kgs hashish from their possession”, a senior police officer said. He preferred not to be named.

All suspected drug peddlers were shifted to Kuchlak police station for interrogation

The accused were shifted to Kuchlak police station and a first information report (FIR) was lodged against them in connection with drugs. A team of senior police officials was also formed to investigate the accused.

Quetta police headed by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Azfar Mehsar have busted gangs involved in drug smuggling. Last year, police conducted a massive operation and abolished all safe havens of the drug peddlers and smugglers in the main nullah that snakes through the high-security zone of Quetta.

Eight drug peddlers were killed during an exchange of fire with police during the operation.
