The 99% census process was completed in Balochistan amid reservations and complaints from political parties. Census Commissioner Balochistan, Noor Ahmed Pirkani said the census process was peacefully completed across the province.

Baloch and Pashtoon political parties express reservations

However, all mainstream Baloch and Pashtoon nationalist political parties have expressed serious reservations and apprehensions about the transparency of the census process. Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) has also expressed serious reservations about the census results of Quetta, the provincial capital.

Census Commissioner Noor Ahmad Perkani said that the period given for the census has been completed on Thursday, April 20, and 99 percent of the census work has been completed in the province.

Political parties demand an extension in census

Up till now, the population of Quetta has been counted as more than 21 lakh 70 thousand. Mr. Prikani said that some blocks were left in Surkhab and Saranan areas of Pishin which will be completed soon, the census process was stopped till April 25 due to the Eid holidays.

Noor Ahmed Perkani said that after Eid Complaints will be addressed and efforts will be made to complete the census process in the province as soon as possible.
